Book and Storage
app.abhyas.storage holds the book Mathematics for Everyone in LaTeX: the notes, the question books (questions and answers PDFs) and mind maps. It is private.
Layout
| Path | What it is |
|---|---|
outline.yaml | Chapters and topics (ids CC-TT). The user's own file |
index.yaml | Generated: chapters โ topics โ questions |
content/02-chapters/ | One folder per chapter, one .tex file per topic |
sources/<source>/ | Questions and examples, each folder with question.tex, answer.tex, meta.yaml |
question-books/ | questions.tex, answers.tex |
scripts/ | build_book.py, renumber_topics.py, unwrap_tex.py |
After changing the outline, topics or any meta.yaml, run python3 scripts/build_book.py. latexmk at the root builds the PDFs into build/.
How the book reaches the site
The website never reads this repository. Sync from the book in app.abhyas.database.dev compares the book with the last synced commit and opens a pull request with a migration of just the changes (new questions, empty official answers, changed lessons, question order). Merging it updates the dev database; prd's ๐ Deploy takes it to prd. Your own answers are never touched.
It needs the ABHYAS_SOURCE_REPO_READ_TOKEN secret (Contents read-only on app.abhyas.storage) and "Allow GitHub Actions to create and approve pull requests" in database.dev's Actions settings.
